Student / Summer Employment with the FHWA is also a possibility. The Summer Transportation Internship Program for Diverse Groups (STIPDG) is part of the Garrett A. Morgan Technology and Transportation Futures Program (GAMTTFP), an educational initiative of the U.S. Department of Transportation. The STIPDG offers transportation research opportunities, work experience, and on-site visits to introduce students to many aspects of the complex field of transportation. The FHWA also offers students an opportunity to gain valuable work experience during the summer break in a variety of occupations, including administrative, professional, or technical.
