Mingus Mountain

Project Description

National Forest System routes (NFSR) 104, 106, 334 and 9607G are in the Prescott National Forest, approximately 100 miles North of Phoenix, AZ.

NFSR 104 provides access to the Mingus Mountain Recreation and picnic areas, the Mingus Fire Watch Tower, the Mingus Hang Gliding Launch Site. This project will include rehabilitation of the unpaved route from approximately MP0.1 to the Mingus Mountain Vista Overlook and Picnic Area at approximately MP2.5, as well as addressing numerous safety concerns along the route, including clear zone, signage, delineation and traffic barriers where appropriate.

NFSR 106 provides access to the Potato Patch Campground, the Woodchute Trailhead and NFSR 106D. This project will include pavement crack sealing, select pavement repairs/patches, resurfacing the Potato Patch Campground with a chip seal surface, and restriping.

NFSR 334 provides access to the South River View Lane Boat Launch at the Verde River. This project will include pavement crack sealing, resurfacing the Boat Launch parking area, and minor drainage regrading at the boat launch.

NFSR 9607G is the White Bridge Picnic Area. This project will include pavement crack sealing, and resurfacing.
