Project Description

The U.S. Forest Service, Arapahoe and Roosevelt National Forests, and the Federal Highway Administration, Central Federal Lands Highway Division (FHWA-CFLHD) are proposing to improve the Brainard Lake Bridge. The proposed improvements include removing and replacing the heavily damaged, concrete box girder; applying a new epoxy overlay to the bridge deck; removing the timber sidewalk; temporarily removing and resetting the existing bridge railing; removing and replacing the existing concrete wingwalls; and temporarily removing and resetting a stone masonry retaining wall.

CFLHD intends to construct this project with the CO FLAP 102(1) Brainard Lake Road project to leverage economies of scale and maximize the efficiencies of resources.
