Project Overview
The project work is located in Phillips County, Montana near the Bowdoin National Wildlife Refuge. Bowdoin National Wildlife Refuge is approximately 7 miles east of the town of Malta, MT, on Old Highway 2. Old Highway 2 is the only access into Bowdoin National Wildlife Refuge.
Work to be performed consists of removal and replacement of the bridge over the Dodson South Irrigation Canal, the reclamation of 3.66 miles of Old Highway 1 using a variety of methods, including separation-stabilization geotextile, cement treated subgrade and aggregate courses and asphalt concrete pavement. An additional 2.46 miles of the section will be resurfaced utilizing pavement preservation techniques including sealing the display pond path at the Refuge. The total project length is 6.12 miles.
