South Unit Loop Road Slide Repair
The Federal Highway Administration - Central Federal Lands Highway Division (FHWA-CFLHD) of), in cooperation with the Theodore Roosevelt National Park and the National Park Service Center, completed an emergency repair solution for a slope failure site along the South Unit Loop Road, and the improvement of erosion control measures at two existing culvert sites. The completed project consisted of construction of a Reinforced Soil Slope at the slope failure site; raising the existing headwalls and adding Gabion wingwalls at the South Unit culvert site; and installation of Gabion wingwalls and replacement of the existing inlet headwall with a more suitable inlet treatment at the North Unit culvert site.
