Steinwehr Avenue Corridor Transportation and Safety Improvements
All project work is complete. No further impact on traffic is anticipated.
Description: Reconstruction, transportation and safety improvements of Steinwehr Avenue and South Washington Street.
- Steinwehr Avenue - The limits of the proposed work will begin from Long Lane intersection to South Washington Street, approximately 0.5 miles along the road. The work includes asphalt paving; brick sidewalk reconstruction; concrete curbs; driveway aprons; drainage; street lighting; bike lane pavement markings and other miscellaneous work.
- South Washington Street - The limits of the proposed work will begin from Steinwehr Avenue intersection to Court Alley. The work includes asphalt paving; drainage improvements and other miscellaneous work.
Traffic Control / Affects to Public
The project will be constructed in 6 phases. In each phase, one lane of Steinwehr Avenue or Washington Street will be closed with a detour posted. Access to local businesses will be maintained at all times. The project is currently in phase 6.
This project was awarded on May 2, 2014. All work was completed by July 31, 2015.
