Navajo Lake Road

Project Description

Navajo Lake Road (FSR 30053), is in Kane County, UT within the boundaries of Dixie National Forest on US Forest Service land. The route begins at a junction with SH14 approximately 26 miles east of Cedar City and proceeds 5.7 miles along the south side of the lake to the junction with FSR31762. The road provides access to Navajo Lake, multiple campgrounds, and summer residences. The Forest Service also operates logging operations along the south side of the alignment for pine beetle kill. Navajo Lake Road is an area road with low ADT and is maintained by Kane County.

The project included pavement of 5.7 miles of Navajo Lake Road to provide two 11’ travel lanes and 4’ shoulders from the intersection of SH14 to Forest Service Road 31762 along with paving four (4) pullout locations along the alignment. This project was part of a larger vision to connect SH14 to SH9 with a better route.
