Roadway Designer Manual: 4 - Drive Roadway
The Drive Roadway tool allows the user to view the path a driver would take along a roadway. It also generates a 3D line string along the path, which might be used to control camera position along the roadway.
The following are needed before using the tool:
- Horizontal and Vertical Alignments Imported into Corridor Modeling.
- 3D Roadway Graphics in a CAD file
The Drive Roadway tool is only accessible from Corridor Modeling by clicking the Drive Roadway icon.
Horizontal Alignment - Defines the Horizontal Alignment that will be used for the drive‐through. A combo box is provided to select the alignment.
Vertical Alignment - Defines the Vertical Alignment that will be used for the drive-through. A combo box is provided to select the alignment.
Horizontal Offset– Defines a horizontal distance from the alignment for the driver. Enter a negative value if a distance to the left of the alignment is desired.
Vertical Offset - Defines a vertical distance from the alignment for the driver. Enter a negative value if a distance below the alignment is desired.
Speed - Defines the speed of a vehicle used for the drive‐through.
Frames per Second - Specifies how many frames are needed to provide a smooth animation for the drive‐through.
