Economic Justification: Cost to Repair Future Damage

Estimate the cost to repair damage after future ER eligible events with both the repair in-kind alternative and the Betterment alternative. Estimated costs should be in today's dollar (not adjusted for inflation or CIP) and can only include costs eligible under the ER Program.

Do not include costs that are not eligible under the ER Program such as:

• User costs and economic impacts
• Heavy maintenance
• Work normally performed on a frequently recurring interval, to repair facilities affected by long term, pre-existing conditions such as gradual, slow moving slides or rock fall
