Develop 50%

ACTIVITY: Develop Intermediate (50%) design consists of the steps below.

  1. Complete Intermediate Road Safey Evaluation analysis and form.
  2. Support major structure design
  3. Develop drainage design
  4. Develop erosion control design
  5. Minimize utility conflicts
  6. Develop temporary traffic control

Step 1 (Weight: 1)

Description: Complete Intermediate Road Safey Evaluation analysis and form.

Step 2 (Weight: 14)

Description: Support major structure design

  • Finalize bridge detour alignment for selected alternative
  • Provide support to technical services for wall designs (existing cross-sections, wall alignments, etc.)
  • Develop wall layout sheets (elevation view)

Step 3 (Weight: 25)

Description: Develop drainage design

  • Develop culvert designs and inlet and outlet features adequately to define R/W conflicts and construction easement needs
  • Perform/Finalize drainage basin delineations and calculate peak discharges
  • Support the major culverts design by Hydraulics
  • Update the plan and profile sheets for major drainage structures

Step 4 (Weight: 25)

Description: Develop erosion control design

Develop erosion control plans and identify best management practices

Step 5 (Weight: 10)

Description: Minimize utility conflicts

Revise design to minimize conflicts with utilities

Step 6 (Weight: 25)

Description: Develop temporary traffic control

  • Develop preliminary construction phasing plan and/or detour plan
  • Determine ROW and/or easement impacts
