50% PS&E

ACTIVITY: Finalize plans, specs, and estimate and QC/assemble intermediate (50%) package consists of the steps below.

  1. Update plan and profile sheets
  2. Update Standards, details, and project specific plan sheets.
  3. Summary of Quantities and Tabulations
  4. Prepare Class B cost estimate.
  5. Construction schedule (CPM)
  6. Review ENV documents and verify design meets commitments
  7. Identify applicable boilerplate SCRs
  8. Complete the 50% QC checklist
  9. Design QC Review
  10. Print and distribute copies of Intermediate PS&E (internal and external)

Step 1 (Weight: 15)

Description: Update plan and profile sheets

Add/Revise plan and profile annotations of features

Step 2 (Weight: 5)

Description: Update Standards, details, and project specific plan sheets.

Step 3 (Weight: 25)

Description: Summary of Quantities and Tabulations

  • Calculate plan quantities for all identified pay items
  • Develop Summary of Quantities Excel spreadsheet

Step 4 (Weight: 15)

Description: Prepare Class B cost estimate.

  • Prepare Class B cost estimate. Coordinate with Program Manager.
  • Develop individual pay items for major work activities.
  • Conduct unit price analysis.
  • Update Engineer's Estimate with unit prices, contingency factors, and inflate to construction year
